Electric boats impress EU Summit visitors and numerous media teams

Tivat (Jun 06 2026) - Within the framework of the EU Summit in Montenegro, an organized water transport operation is currently underway for passengers on the route Tivat Airport – Pine (Tivat), using the EcoBoats electric maritime fleet.

The operation is being carried out as multi-day logistical support for the event, with clearly defined routes and transport schedules.

During the day, more than 650 passengers were successfully transported, including summit participants as well as media and operational teams from several European countries, including Ireland, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Passengers and media teams expressed particular interest and positive reactions to the experience of traveling on electric boats, which attracted significant attention throughout the operation.

The vessels departed early in the morning from Portonovi Marina and, after a short stop at Pine Pier, continued towards the water terminal near Tivat Airport, where organized transport operations commenced.

Today’s operation was carried out with a high level of professional coordination between crews and operational teams, without significant disruptions, and with short technical stops for energy recharging and fleet logistics support.

The special importance of this activity lies in the fact that, for the first time in Montenegro, an electric maritime fleet is being used at this scale to support an international event of this level, further promoting the principles of sustainable mobility and green transition.

Passengers had the opportunity to experience a quiet, stable, and low-vibration ride, with zero emissions during operation and minimal impact on the marine environment.

At the end of the day, a passenger requiring medical assistance was also transported, with a quick and efficient response from the crew and coordination with the relevant services, without affecting the regular operation.

The operation continues tomorrow, with planned transport of participants and tourists from Hotel Regent in Tivat to Tivat Airport, along with continuous route optimization in line with the event’s dynamics.

This operation represents an important step in the development of modern, sustainable, and technologically advanced transport solutions in Montenegro, particularly in the context of international gatherings and tourism infrastructure.
