EcoBoats Launches Major Software Update with LiDAR and Autonomous Navigation Support on CAT10 Vessels

EcoBoats is thrilled to announce a major software update to be installed on our boats. The software is made by our partner Callboats and their software engineers, who are currently on site in Montenegro working on testing and optimizing the new software for the CAT10. Designed with cutting-edge technology, the CAT10 is now equipped to redefine public maritime transport and in your operations.

This update also introduces LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to the CAT10. LiDAR provides an unprecedented level of accuracy in real-time 3D mapping and obstacle detection, enabling smarter, more precise navigation and autonomous driving. The CAT10’s enhanced spatial awareness will ensure optimal performance and safety. Also taking a giant leap forward, the CAT10 now will support autonomous driving capabilities and route planning. With this feature, operators can program and tasks remotely, allowing the CAT10 to handle its lines autonomously, although we will maintain having a captain and a sailor on the ship due to safety and legal requirements. This advancement not only improves efficiency but also reduces the workload for the captain, making their workplace safer, more comfortable and more productive. In line with our commitment to sustainability, this update also prepares the CAT10 for an exciting new feature: fast charging. The software update ensures your CAT10 is ready to embrace the future of clean and efficient energy. Fast charging will enable EcoBoats to cover more lines and transport more passengers on a daily basis.
